King County Assessor and Sammamish Property Values

The King County Assessor values all Sammamish residential and commercial properties using two standard methods. The sales comparison approach reviews recent sales of similar properties in the neighborhood. The cost approach calculates what it would cost to replace the structure, subtracts depreciation, and adds land value. Your final property tax bill is based on your assessed value relative to the total taxable value in your community. Property taxes fund schools, roads, parks, libraries, hospitals, and fire districts throughout the county.

A rise in your Sammamish property value does not always mean a proportional rise in your tax bill. The amount each district may collect is constrained by state law, so your individual tax depends on what share of the community's total value your property represents. You can contact the Assessor at Assessor.info@kingcounty.gov or 206-296-7300. Property tax appeals can be filed online through the eAppeals system. You can also sign up on the Assessor's website to receive your assessment notice by email rather than by mail.

The Assessor provides a link to levy rate reports, exemption programs, and deferral information. Seniors, disabled veterans, and disabled persons may qualify for significant reductions in their Sammamish property tax bill if they meet the eligibility requirements.

The King County Assessor's portal is the main resource for Sammamish property valuations, exemption programs, and appeal information.

Washington State law under RCW 42.56.070(9) prohibits using lists of individuals from this system for commercial purposes. You must agree to that restriction before accessing data. The Assessor disclaims liability for errors, so use the portal for general reference and verify important data directly with county staff before making legal or financial decisions. The Recorder's Office is also accessible from the property research sidebar for recorded document searches.
