Camas Overview
Clark County Assessor - Camas Property Records
Peter Van Nortwick serves as the Clark County Assessor. The Assessor's Office identifies and values all taxable real and personal property in Clark County each year, including every Camas parcel. Those values are used to calculate and set levy rates for cities, schools, fire districts, and other taxing districts that overlap Camas. Main office phone: (564) 397-2391. Email: assessor@clark.wa.gov.
Clark County appraisers perform physical inspections of properties on a revaluation cycle map published on the county website. This map shows residents when appraisers may be in their neighborhood. The 1% property tax increase limit applies to the total amount of tax collected by each taxing district, not to individual property owner tax bills. Individual bills can go up more than 1% if assessed values rise faster than the district average or if voters approve new levies outside the statutory cap.
As of 2025, the Joint Lobby is closed March through June for renovations. All Assessor services remain fully available by phone and email during this period. A secure drop box is located on the first floor of the Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin Street, Vancouver, WA 98660 for document drop-offs. This is also where the Assessor and Treasurer offices are housed.
Property owners may appeal assessed values within 60 days of the date on their Notice of Value if they believe the assessment exceeds market value. Senior and disabled property tax exemption applications for the 2026 tax year are available on the Assessor's website at clark.wa.gov/assessor. Income limits for 2026 have been updated. Contact the office for the current figures.

Searching Camas Property Tax Records Online
The Clark County GIS Property Information Center at gis.clark.wa.gov/gishome/Property is the main online search tool for Camas property tax records. Search by Property Identification Number (PID) to view a comprehensive account summary. Each record shows property type and status, tax status, site address, and abbreviated legal description. Ownership data includes the owner's name and mailing address, with links to Google Maps Street View and Bing Maps Bird's Eye for visual reference.
The GIS portal also shows administrative data panels including zoning designation, approximate area in square feet and acres, comprehensive plan designation, subdivision name, census tract, fire district, school district, sewer district, water district, and C-Tran benefit area status. Assessment data panels report land value, building value, total property value, taxable value, revaluation cycle, and assessor neighborhood code. You can also access building details, environmental information, tax history, auditor documents, permits, and sales history through the same portal.
A disclaimer on the Clark County GIS portal notes that the county does not warrant the accuracy or reliability of data, and that RCW 42.56.070(8) prohibits using lists of individuals gathered from the site for commercial purposes. Technical support for the portal is available at GISTechSupport@clark.wa.gov or (564) 397-2002 ext. 4652.

Camas Property Tax Payments
Alishia Topper serves as the Clark County Treasurer. The Treasurer's Office provides tax collection, banking services, cash management, debt management, investment services, and financial reporting for Clark County and its junior taxing districts. The county treasurer bills and collects all property taxes and remits the City of Camas' share once daily after collection.
The office is located within the Joint Lobby on the 2nd Floor of the Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin Street, Vancouver, WA 98660. Contact: phone 564.397.2252, email datamgmt@clark.wa.gov. The office remains available by phone and email during the Joint Lobby renovation closure running through mid-2025.
Taxpayers can get a copy of their property tax statement by entering their property identification number in the "Find Your Tax Statement" tool on the Treasurer's website at clark.wa.gov/treasurer. The Treasurer publishes an annual "Report to Our Citizens" that summarizes revenue, expenses, customer survey results, and future plans. This is a useful reference if you want to see how Clark County property tax revenues are being used.
First-half property taxes are due by April 30. Second-half taxes are due by October 31. Washington State law sets these dates and the penalties that apply if you miss them. Under RCW 84.56, delinquent taxes accrue interest monthly plus additional penalty charges if unpaid past June 1 and December 1.

The City of Camas Finance Department is at 616 NE 4th Avenue, Camas, WA 98607. Phone: 360-834-2462. Email: finance@cityofcamas.us. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, closed from noon to 1 PM for lunch, excluding holidays. Camas maintains an open budget portal where residents can explore revenues and expenses, view historical data, and see proposed budget data. The city also operates Camas Open Spending, which works like a public check register and allows residents to view city expenditures. Both tools are available through cityofcamas.us/finance.
The City of Camas collects Real Estate Excise Tax (REET) on property sales. The first quarter of one percent (0.25%) in REET 1 funds capital projects listed in the city's Capital Facilities Plan, including streets, sidewalks, water systems, sewer systems, parks, fire facilities, and administrative facilities. The second quarter of one percent (0.25%) in REET 2 is dedicated primarily to park improvements. Historical REET receipts dating back to 2000 are published at cityofcamas.us/finance/page/real-estate-excise-taxes.
The City of Camas regular property tax levy for 2023 was $2.02 per $1,000 of assessed valuation on a total assessed valuation of $7.276 billion. The levy produced $14.7 million in revenue.
